Bob Marley founded Tuff Gong Studios in 1965 and since then it has grown into one of the largest recording studios in the Caribbean and has been responsible for birthing such hits as Buffalo Soldier, Exodus, One Love, and many other soul searching lyrics from the recognized Artist of The Century.

Feel a sense of Bob Marley’s visionary legacy by participating in the “Making of the Music” Tour; a 60- minute interactive behind the scenes look at the record-making process, from rehearsal to album, in the Tuff Gong facility.
The rehearsal room is the first stop on this guided, interactive revelation of the nuances of music making. With a complete stage, microphones, instruments- to even include one of Bob Marley’s very own grand pianos, keyboard, trap drums, control board, mirrors- and seating.
As you journey through the space, feel the energy of the rehearsal room as it has been the perfecting space for many of the greatest names in the world’s music industry. Along your musical journey, you will see and hear about “Ride Natty Ride” the tour transport truck purchased by the Legend himself. Follow internationally famous footsteps into our artiste’s lounge, engineer’s room and our recording studio, one of the Caribbean’s largest live recording spaces.
See some of the Bob Marley’s own musical instruments. View photographs and learn about the family, the band, and the many other international icons in the company of the great man himself. Discover first-hand how records are made, from the original acetate disc and vinyl pebbles, to the final pressed 45 or LP. See automatic and manual pressing equipment and learn how they work.

- This 60-minute cultural excursion covers about 1,380 feet in an easy leisurely walk and is handicap accessible for guests with collapsible wheelchairs and walkers. There are only three steps or stair like fixtures of which only one is greater than one step up. Three restrooms are available to patrons along the tour pathway. We suggest international guests wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes, and use insect repellent and sunscreen.
